So I don't know why, but I've got a good feeling about tonight for our Hardwood Heroes. Look, its simple the Mavericks looked more like the Nets in Games Two, Three, and Four, than the high flying team we came to know over the last part of the season. But in the the two games that they've put together a dominant win, they've looked like they could take on any team they wanted and have a better than zero chance of winning. A dissenter might say well Popovich mailed in the second half of that game...blah blah blah, I stopped listening to their crap at that point. Seriously, yeah I agree, Pop agrees and his weird facial tumors agree that he mailed the second half in. The Spurs gave the first half their full attention, and with the exception of Tony Parkers one man side show (which still wouldn't have won them the game), the Mavericks whupped up on the Spurs early, late and often. So there.
So if a Milwaukee Bucks (shameless plug of the best post-season chant: Fear the Deer!) fan were to analyze this series, it should stand to reason that if the Mavericks follow the blueprint of either Game One or Game Five (preferably the Game Five version) then they will win the game. But lets just say that the Mavs decrease their output from Tuesday night by half and the Spurs don't give up in the second half, this then is the scenario in which a good game that either team could win. What will happen tonight? Who can say, not I, because I am not omnipotent, other wise Dallas teams would have won a championship in every sport since the invention of sports.
Boom. Bold predictions I know but that's just it, they're predictions. Educated guesses based on the individuals thoughts on prior events. So If the Mavs were like the Rangers then you'd never pick them to win a playoff game much less a series, but thank God Almighty they're not, so I can pick the Mavericks all I want and can't be called crazy. But ah there's the rub. This is a Dallas team who seeks to do nothing but disappoint us, the diehard fan. So are they going to tank tonight, Game 7 (if it even happens) or somewhere down the line? Who knows and you know what, who the hell cares? This is what it all boils down to, this is our team. So get ready San Antonio, the Dirkus Circus is in town and he's got some help too!
